About this training

Social media shapes what people see, believe, and talk about. How can we make it work for us, and not against us?

This training is designed for activists who want to use social media more strategically to spread progressive messages, counter misinformation, and reach people beyond our usual circles. First, we'll have a brief presentation and discussion breaking down how social media algorithms work, what makes posts more likely to travel, and how everyday engagement—liking, commenting, and sharing—can help amplify our content!

For the second part of the training, we'll do a guided activity where we'll learn how to get connected with various Saint Cloud-area progressive/left-leaning social media accounts to help create content, share ideas, or support online organizing efforts.
